Claims Support When It Matters Most
When a loss occurs, knowing what to do — and doing it quickly — makes a significant difference. Here is how Capital & Co supports you.
What to Do When a Loss Occurs
Follow these six steps to protect your claim and get the support you need.
Contact Capital & Co Immediately
Call us at 310-492-2007 or email cs@capcoinsurance.com as soon as a loss occurs. Early reporting is critical — delays can jeopardize your coverage.
Locate Your Policy Information
Gather your policy number, insurance carrier name, and any relevant endorsements. If you can't find your documents, contact our office — we can provide them.
Document the Date and Details
Record the exact date, time, and location of the incident. Write a clear, factual description of what happened, who was involved, and what was damaged or lost.
Photograph and Preserve Evidence
Photograph all damage and the surrounding area. Do not discard damaged property until the adjuster has reviewed it. Preserve all physical evidence.
Gather Receipts and Estimates
Organize all documentation — purchase receipts, repair estimates, vendor invoices, contracts, and financial records that support the value of your claim.
We Guide the Next Steps
Capital & Co will coordinate the claims reporting process, advocate on your behalf where appropriate, and help you understand what to expect as the claim progresses.
Claims Tips from Our Team
Report Promptly
Most policies contain strict notice requirements. Delayed reporting can result in a coverage denial. Contact us immediately when a loss occurs.
Keep a Detailed File
Maintain a dedicated folder for all claim-related communications, receipts, estimates, adjuster contact information, and carrier correspondence.
Cooperate with the Adjuster
Work professionally and promptly with the assigned adjuster. Provide requested documentation in a timely manner and respond to all inquiries.
Important: Claims decisions are made by the insurance carrier based on policy terms, conditions, exclusions, and the facts of the loss. Capital & Co can assist with reporting and guidance, but does not make coverage decisions.
